Artist’s Statement

From the time I was making clothes for my Betsy McCall dolls to the entrance of my awareness of designer clothes worn by Jackie Kennedy, fashion has been a passion of mine. I finally visited the garment district of NY a few years ago, then the garment district in Seoul and now Paris!

Color and design are what I use to create fashion. What you wear is an expression of who you are. I like to create unusual, unique clothing and coordinated jewelry that represents the artist I have evolved into today.

I have sewn smocked dresses for an exclusive children’s store in Washington, D.C., and sewn several commissioned quilts and garments.

I have made jewelry for over twenty years and have Level 2 Certification in Precious Metal clay jewelry making. Then I found Kumihimo braiding which has been attributed to the Japanese though origins seems fuzzy at best. I found beads enhanced the braiding and started making more jewelry. Each level requires more learning and practicing but I love the results and hope you do too.
